Mini RC Car 30 - 27MHz

I had to do a robotics project where I took these cars apart and made computers drive them. I have to say, overall, they're a great car. PROS: They're super fast, the circuitry is easy to work with, and they're very tiny so they're quite portable. They also last consistently a long time. I bought five and I haven't accidentally fried any of them, and they all are still in working condition after a year of dropping, throwing, soldering, resoldering and taking them apart a billion times. These great little things can support much more than twice their weight as well. CONS: Dust, dander, hair, and everything else gets in the axle of the wheels very easily, and there's no straightforward way of getting it out. The frequency of the receiver is very low, and extremely variable. One car received signals at about 13 Hz, another at 17 or so. This translates into a slow response time relative to how fast the cars are. Overall, I'd recommend them over other RC cars any day. They're much better than any other I've worked with.

This car is a great gift for children who like to play with toy cars.
